The catastrophic flooding that happened in Nigeria in October 2022 affected a lot of communities in the Niger Delta region. Toru-Angiama was one such community that was significantly affected. Properties and livelihoods were adversely affected. The people were in dire need of assistance, which seemed not to be coming. So we the descendants decided to mount a fundraising campaign for our people. Supporters came rallying to our aid and gave out of their substance to assist us.
A committee was set in place to help organize and direct the distribution of the palliatives, as well as the disbursement of cash assistance to mothers and women of the community. After all, mothers are the foundation of the family home.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who supported us. The ministries, organizations, and individuals who listed us up financially, we thank you.
This is really a very welcomed development and we really appreciate the effort of the committee and everyone who donated to our fundraising. Toru-Angiama is our home and a place for all.
